The Companion
The Companion is the ModelReins desktop app. It’s the first thing you install and the thing that runs in your system tray. It contains Bob (your local brain), the Wall (fleet dashboard), and a background worker that heartbeats to the fleet.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- Installs Bob — creates your local brain on first run, seeded from the Spore
- Runs the wizard — one-click setup: Ollama detection, model pull, account creation, worker registration
- The Wall — full-screen fleet dashboard with live workers, jobs, metrics, leaderboard, audit trail, and 14 navigable pages
- Background worker — heartbeats to your fleet, picks up jobs, routes through the local Ollama model
- System tray — lives in your tray when not actively viewing the Wall
